Dick’s Sporting Goods is bucking the store closures trend by opening 11 new locations this month

As retailers plan to close an estimated 6,000 stores across the US by the end of the year, Dick’s Sporting Goods is bucking the trend and debuting 11 new locations by the end of August.
The openings include four traditional Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, one Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy store, four Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse Sale locations, and one Overtime store.
Overtime and Warehouse are two new concepts for the company. Locations for each first opened in June. Overtime stores are outlets that sell sports apparel and equipment at up to 75% off, while Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouses are temporary stores with even deeper discounts.
