Editor World Health Organization March 2, 2020

Since the World Health Organization (WHO) was informed of a type of pneumonia of unknown cause — COVID-19 — on December 31, 2019 that seemed to originate in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, the reported cases of infection has steadily risen.
